Buckna Presbyterian Church

Announcements, 29.11.20

Below are the announcements from our service today.

Sunday Evening Livestream

I’m delighted to say that we are holding an evening livestream service tonight at 8pm. This will be similar to the harvest livestream service that we ran back in October.

Tonight we’re going to be thinking about the question: can I really trust the Bible? There’ll also be an interview about mental health from a Christian perspective and we’ll have music from our Praise Group. We’d love you to join us and tune in to the service this evening. It’s the kind of service that you could invite someone else to watch as well. Let me encourage you to do that if possible.

Zoom Prayer Meeting

Our in-person midweek prayer gathering will not be happening this Wednesday. We will however meet to pray on Zoom. I’ll post the meeting details in the the church WhatsApp group closer to the time. Let me encourage you to join us as we pray together on Zoom. It’s important that we’re praying for each other at this time.

VIBE are also meeting online via Zoom on Thursday at 7.30pm. This will be the final night on their ‘Committed to Christ’ theme. All young people who are Year 8 and up are very welcome.

Annual Report and Financial Statements for 2019

Following the detailed announcement in our service this morning, you can access our Annual Report and Financial Statements for 2019 here.

Result of Eldership Election

Kirk Session have met a couple of times over the past few weeks – mainly to discuss the result of our eldership election. I’m delighted this morning to be able to read and publish the list of those deemed elected to serve our church family in this way. The list of those selected in alphabetical order is as follows:

  • David Bradley
  • David Hanna
  • David Woodburn
  • Ian Craig

I am required to read and / or publish this list over two Sundays. This is the first reading and publication of it. Should any voter desire to make any objection to any of those listed, objections should be lodged to me in writing within a week from the second announcement or reading of the list.

Join us on FaceBook

If you are a facebook user, then we would invite to to join with us there. Over the coming weeks and months it is our intention to use facebook to provide useful information, highlight upcoming online events and share items of praise that can be used in conjunction with our online services.

We feel this is a great way for our Church to remain active in these uncertain times and to let the wider world have a little glimpse of our life in the Braid.
