Evening Service

Tonight our evening service will be at the usual time of 7pm. Our Engine Room prayer will be running between 6.40 and 6.50. Tonight the service will be taken by Jordan Jones who is a first year ministry student at Union Theological College. I am going over to Glenwherry to take the evening service there.

Vibe

Vibe are meeting after the evening service up in the church hall between 8-9.30pm.

Church Calendar

A calendar for this church year has been placed in the Session Room vestibule. Organisational leaders are asked to fill in details about what their organisation is meeting.

Church Announcement Sheet

The church announcement sheet is returning from next Sunday. All announcements should be with John Robinson by 4.30pm on Friday. The announcement sheet will also be uploaded to the church website as well. There have been more announcements recently, church life is getting slightly busier and reintroducing the news sheet will be an important step for us.

Covid Restrictions

I wanted to provide you with a short update about where we are with Covid restrictions. Nothing has changed in terms of the guidelines for churches. Face coverings are still mandatory and will be in indoor spaces throughout the autumn-winter period. We’re able to take our face coverings off when we’re seated socially distanced but we have to continue to wear them when singing.

Social distances is still at 1 metre. That is changing in other parts of society but there are changes for churches yet. Some churches have actually only moved from 2 metres to 1 metre in recent weeks so have been ahead of the curve in a sense. If and when anything changes I will do my best to let you know.

Pastoral Cover

I am off this incoming week for half-term. Rev. John Brogan from Glenarm and Carnalbanagh Presbyterian is providing pastoral cover in case of an emergency. Should you require a minister, please contact John Robinson, our Clerk of Session, in the first instance.

Midweek will resume on 3rd November and on that night we’re going to have a live Zoom call with Matt Hill. We’ve been developed a partnership with Matt over recent times and that will be an important evening for us.

Services Next Sunday

The morning service next Sunday will be taken by Philip Kennedy. The evening service will be taken by Phil Dunn who is the EMF representative for Northern Ireland.

Join us on FaceBook

If you are a facebook user, then we would invite to to join with us there. Over the coming weeks and months it is our intention to use facebook to provide useful information, highlight upcoming online events and share items of praise that can be used in conjunction with our online services.

We feel this is a great way for our Church to remain active in these uncertain times and to let the wider world have a little glimpse of our life in the Braid.
