Tonight is the service of ordination and installation of our new ruling elders. Registration was required for the service tonight and a seating plan has been published on the website.
If you registered to come please give the seating plan one final check before you come tonight – there have been a couple of changes since it was posted on the website. As this is a Presbytery service it is important that the seating plan is followed.
For those who didn’t register, let me really encourage you to watch the service online. We’re not going to livestream the service to the hall – we’ve been able to fit everyone who registered into the meetinghouse.
The offering tonight will go towards the Student’s Bursary Fund. That fund exists to make financial provision for students for the ordained ministry. There’ll be an opportunity to give to that important work either on your way into the meetinghouse or as you leave. Please note that there will also be no Engine Room prayer meeting this evening.
Tonight is an important night for us as a church family. Please pray for our elders-elect and also for the Presbytery Commission as they lead the service.
Our midweek meeting will be on Wednesday night at 8pm. We’ll be finishing our studies in the book of James. It would great if you could join with us in person but the talk will be recorded and uploaded to the church podcast afterwards.
Meeting of Kirk Session
Kirk Session will meet this Thursday (21st October) at 8pm in Mobile 1.
As church life returns to something more recognisable, a calendar for the year ahead has been placed on the notice board in the Session Room vestibule. Organisational leaders are asked to fill in details about when their organisation is meeting.
If anyone would like to sign up to receive envelopes or would like more information on giving via standing orders you are asked to contact Billy Smyth, Treasurer. You can access a template standing order form here and download a blank form here.
If your personal details have changed it would also be appreciated if you could provide Billy with up to date information.
If you would like to sign up or withdraw from the Gift Aid scheme, you are asked to contact Des Alexander. You can access a Gift Aid form here.
Harvest envelopes can now also be returned.
PW met on Friday night and the Committee would like to thank all ladies who purchased hats, toys and shoeboxes. The total donated was a brilliant £255 for the orphanage.
Anyone who would still like to contribute to the Mission Fund can do so placing a marked envelope in the offering boxes by Sunday 14th November at the latest.
Menus for the PW dinner on Thursday 9th December are available in the vestibules and the church hall today. All ladies of the congregation and community will be very welcome. If you hope to come please let Laura know by next Sunday as the hotel have requested provisional numbers. Menu choice and payment will be collected in a few weeks.
