Buckna Presbyterian Church

Announcements, 09.08.20

Below are the announcements from our online service this weekend.

Epilogue Services, 9th and 16th August

Thank you to everyone who has registered to come to the epilogue service this evening. Unfortunately, unless you have registered to you won’t be bale to attend. We have allocated seats to individuals, couples and families and have done so with 2 metre social distancing in mind.

Doors open at 6pm and we look forward to seeing you this evening. The service will be recorded and uploaded to our church website and Facebook afterwards. If you have registered and are attending, I would draw your attention to a short video on our church website which walks you through what church will look like with social distancing measures in place.

It would be very helpful if you could watch that beforehand so that you know what to expect. Also, if you have registered but now feel generally unwell or are displaying symptoms of Covid-19 we would ask you not to attend.

We would appreciate your patience and understanding this evening as well. This is obviously new for us all and we will be doing many things that we don’t normally do on a regular Sunday. Your cooperation would be greatly appreciated when it comes to social distancing and particularly in regards to seating.

If in the unfortunate case you have been unable to register for tonight’s epilogue, don’t worry – we are holding another next Sunday evening. Next Sunday’s epilogue service will be held in the church hall – not the meetinghouse – the church hall. That’s to allow us see how social distancing works there. Our plan from September is to run two services on a Sunday – one in the meetinghouse and one in the hall – and the venue of our epilogue services reflects that plan.

Registration will be open on Monday and Tuesday of this week. The person that you will speak to when registering is Richard Kidd. The number that you need to ring is 07851 048095.

Vestry Hour

I will be running Vestry Hour this week. I will be in Mobile 1 on Tuesday between 11am-12pm and on Thursday between 8-9pm. If you’d like to speak to me about any matter or would just like to catch up, please feel as though you can call down on either day.

Zoom Prayer Time – Saturday 15th August at 8.30pm

We will be holding another Zoom prayer time this Saturday evening (15th August). This is to pray for our church family as we hold epilogue services this month and also as we plan to resume weekly services in September. It would be great if you could join us this Saturday night to pray. Thank you to everyone who joined us last night. I’ll post the Zoom details in the church family WhatsApp group closer to the time.

Congregational Committee Meeting

There will be a meeting of the Congregational Committee on Wednesday 19th August at 8pm in the Church Hall. Social distancing measures will be in place at that meeting. The meeting will focus on the resumption of weekly church services in September.

Join us on FaceBook

If you are a facebook user, then we would invite to to join with us there. Over the coming weeks and months it is our intention to use facebook to provide useful information, highlight upcoming online events and share items of praise that can be used in conjunction with our online services.

We feel this is a great way for our Church to remain active in these uncertain times and to let the wider world have a little glimpse of our life in the Braid.
