Below are the announcements from our service today.
Zoom Prayer Meeting
We’ll be praying together again on Zoom this Wednesday evening at 8pm. It would be great if you could join us as we pray for each other and also our church family at this time. I’ll post the meeting details in the the church WhatsApp group closer to the time.
Annual Report and Financial Statement for 2019
Our Annual Report and Financial Statement for 2019 is available here. If you would like a hard copy of this report please contact our treasurer Billy Smyth.
Result of Eldership Election
As you will know, I read the list of those deemed elected to serve our church family by Kirk Session last Sunday. Under the Code of our church I am required to read that list again today meaning that it will have been read over two successive Sundays. The list of those selected in alphabetical order is as follows:
- David Bradley
- David Hanna
- David Woodburn
- Ian Craig
As I’ve said, this is the second reading of the list. Should any voter desire to make any objection to any of those listed, objections should be lodged to me in writing within a week from the second announcement or reading of the list. That means that any objections should be with me in writing by next Sunday. In the event of there being no objections we will proceed to the next stage which is a congregational meeting. I will have more details about that next Sunday.
We have received information from central church to say that publication of the Herald will resume in January 2021. Instead of producing monthly magazines, the decision has been made to produce four seasonal issues in 2021.
There will be no subscription charges in 2021. That decision was made in light of the fact that subscriptions were paid in 2020 but not fully redeemed. So, if you subscribe to the Presbyterian Herald, there will be four issues printed next year and you will not be charged for those. We will attempt to distribute them as safely as possible whenever we receive them.
VIBE Food Bank Donations
VIBE are planning to give items to a local bank in the next few weeks. Mobile 1 will be open between 11am and 4pm next Sunday (13th December) for young people to drop their donations off. There will be more information about this initiative on social media later in the week.
End of Lockdown
The circuit breaker lockdown that we are in at the minute is due to end by Friday of this week. Churches will be able to reopen next Sunday. We have every intention of meeting together in Buckna and our service will be held in the meetinghouse and live-streamed to the church hall at the usual time of 12 noon.
