Evening Service
Tonight we are restarting our weekly evening service. We’ll be gathering here in the meetinghouse at 7pm. All the same restrictions that apply to our morning service will also apply to our evening service.
Tonight Mark Rodgers, our summer assistant, will be speaking to us from the Bible. We’re also going to hear something of his story and background through an interview as well. Let me warmly welcome Mark, Gillian, Caleb and Amy this morning. We’re delighted that you’re going to be joining with us as a church family over these summer months.
Let me mention that Mark and I are going to share the pulpit over the coming months. We’ll swap at different points in future services. We are now in something of a work bubble. As an extra precaution we’ll sanitise our hands when we swap over.
Let me really encourage you to make a point of coming to our evening service. If you’re not able to join us in person we will be live-streaming the service through our YouTube channel. The link to that will be available through the church website.

Pastoral Visitation
As you will know, Covid restrictions have been eased somewhat over the past few weeks. The easing of restrictions allows for some pastoral visitation – although you will understand that it can’t be visitation in its normal form.
PCI has encouraged garden visitation where possible and weather permitting. Up to six people from no more than two households can meet in a private dwelling at the moment and so visitation can resume with that in mind. Hospital visitation is also back to something more recognisable too.
Now, all of that is to say that myself, Mark and John Holmes will be resuming some visitation over the next few weeks. It is likely to be pre-arranged in that we’ll perhaps phone ahead and say that we’re going to call and check whether or not you’re happy for that to happen.
I appreciate that there may be some nervousness following a year or so of minimal contact with other people. If you we get in touch and suggest calling and you would prefer that not to happen, please feel as though you can just say. We won’t be offended in the slightest. We are looking forward to resuming visitation. It’s a key part of ministry and pastoral work and one that I have missed in the past year.
Midweek
There will be no midweek meeting this Wednesday coming. Midweek will resume on Wednesday 16th June.
Wider World Magazines
Wider World magazines for PW ladies are now available to collect from Mobile 1. They’re sitting on a table in the mobile. You can go into the mobile after this morning’s service to collect your copy.
Door Duty
The door duty rota for June through to August is now available below.
Month | Session Room Aisle | Broughshane End Aisle | Central Aisle | Outside |
June | Billy Smyth | Dan Alexander | James Currie | George Hamilton |
July | Stephen Bell | Bertie Kidd | David Mills | Norman Kennedy |

CD and DVD Distribution
Last Sunday’s services are now available for members of Session to collect and distribute. As I mentioned last week, we have received some feedback regarding our DVDs. One or two people have had issues with their disk failing each week. If you are having any issues with the DVDs that you receive please let us know. We’d like to figure out what the problem is with them.
